We're Digital

Hi all!

Well, I finally got a digital camera. I'm probably the last person on the planet to get one, but I'm very excited and am having a great time with it. First I took a picture of Paul on the way home from Bangor
and a picture of Toby when he came over

Then I tried taking a picture of a picture. This is a picture of our great grandmother, Sophie holding grammy's sister Mary (far-right), her mother, Marguerite, step-father, Joe Gilmore, and sisters, Mary and Margaret and half sister Jennie. The other children are Margarets daughters Adele and Eva Beaulieu. It was taken in 1891 and the back even notes some of the clothes they were wearing. It didn't come out great, but at least you can get the idea, and I think once I learn to use the software, I can sharpen it up. Scanning would be better, but until I get a new scanner, I'm glad I'll be able to share some of the pics I have.

Next, I took a few picture of the library gardens.Well, I haven't taken the time to figure out about turning things yet, but will work on that next time. In the meantime, you'll have to turn your head to see this one - Sorry, it's the only one I downloaded. I'll work on that lesson next time :-) The Belfast Garden Club maintains our gardens and they do a wonderful job.

Yesterday, Paul and I went to a wedding in Camden and I took a bunch of pictures there. For those of you who remember my friend Heidi Roggenbauer, it was her daughter Kristin's wedding. The weather was perfect and the reception was at the Yacht Club, so I was able to get some nice shots of the harbor. Here are a few. I had a nice time visiting with Heidi and her sister Mitzi and their families, reminiscing and catching up. Heidi lives in Seattle now, so I don't see much of her.

So, that's what I've been doing in my spare time for the last week or so. Now I'm going to put so many pictures on here, you're going to beg me to stop.

Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there.
Betsy

Hi Betsy !
Love all the photos! Beautiful job! Actually, I think that your photo of another photo over a 100 years old is really great. I have never seen a photo of Grammy Dubay's mother and didn't even know her name. WoW!
The girls got Debbie a digital camera for Christmas and although we're still learning we've been able to get some great shots. I especially like the ability to crop pictures and clean them up. I'm going to get Jessica to show me how to send you some. I never thought of taking a photo of an older photo.
By the way, Dale called me on Father's Day. He sounds good and said he's very busy. He lives in Tampa, Florida, has his own big rig and drives daily between Ft Myers and Tampa.
We do plan to be in Old Town in August. Jessica found us a camp on the Glenburn side of Pushaw. I'll let you know more as the time gets closer.
Bye now!
Dana
