Some Questions
Hi Everyone,
My computer is still out of commission but it's at the shop and it looks like they may be able to fix it. I'm still hoping for a new one, but we'll see. Anyway, since I'll be unable to post this weekend, I'll get one out now. I thought I would ask a couple of questions to see if we can get this thing livened up a little.
First of all, I'd like to hear about some of the families we haven't gotten news about yet - What are Aimee and Jessica doing? How about Tyler and Josh? and Peter's kids. Actually some of you cousins haven't shared much about yourselves either.
My other question is what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We are going to Raymond (Me) to Paul's sister Michelle's house and will spend a couple of days down there. In recent years, we've all gone to North Conway on Friday to do some Christmas shopping and hang out. We missed that part last year, so I'm looking forward to it this year. Toby will come down with us and then go to his girlfriends in Kennebunk for the rest of the weekend. It's always lots of fun and I can't wait.
I've been trying to think of some family trivia and haven't come up with much, but here's one (hopefully one of you will come up with something better):
What good things to eat could you find growing in Grammy's back yard when you were a kid? There are probably different answers depending on how old you are - Uncle Kenny and Uncle Frank will have too many answers to write down- but I'm thinking of three things.
Well, it's time to finish things up here for the week and get ready to go home. I hope you all have a great weekend. I think we are actually supposed to have 2 days without rain. Hooray! and y'all didn't do very well with the "go blue" thoughts last weekend, so please try a little harder this weekend, will you? :-)
Betsy

Hi Betsy !
It's tough being without your home computer. I've been there. Try sharing it with three other people. That used to be our problem.
Aimee and Jessica are both doing well. Aimee now lives in Catonsville Maryland. Her backyard borders on Baltimore. She just started a new job which she is very excited about. She is a social worker who was working in a special needs school with behaviorially disturbed kids.(very difficult) Her new job is in an adoption agency where she arranges adoptions and works with women who are giving their children up for adoption. We don't see her much but she will be home for Thanksgiving.
Jessica is living at home while she attends Graduate School at Arcadia University. She is working during the day at as a teaching assistant in a special ed school. In May she will recieve her Masters Degree in Special Education and look for a Teaching position. With her background and experience it should not be that difficult.
Thanksgiving will be at our house. I like it here.
As far as Grammy's backyard, green apples from the tree next to the chicken coop and rhubarb. Although I never ate one I remember Grammy showing me her very first pear from her pear tree.

Hey, Dana
Well when I got home on Friday, the computer was here with a new monitor. We've grown so accustomed to having this machine in the house, that I really felt cut off without it. I'm not sure that's a good thing, but I'm glad it's back. (plus I missed playing Big Kahuna Reef 2 :-)
It sounds like the girls are doing well. It's interesting that they have both gone into the helping kids field. That's very admirable. Toby's girlfriend is a social work major. I don't think I could do it.
You got all three of the things I was thinking of growing in the back yard. I don't think I ever actually ate a pear either, but I do remember there being a few on the tree. My favorite was the rhubarb. We would peel it and Gram would give us a cup with some sugar and we would sit on the steps and dip and eat. It was sweet and tart at the same time.
Wonderful!

Hi Betsy;
I remember apples (grammy was always afraid we'd fall out of the tree), pears (I do remember eating some with Bill, Kenny and Heidi)and rhubarb. I also remember going a few back yards away from Grammy's (What is now Floyd & Charlene McLaughlin's backyard) and picking blackberrys.
Does anyone remember a couple of antique items that were behind the garage? Ilove ther blasts from the past!
Rick
